Unexpected Letter

In October, I was priviledged to visit a prison in Elmore, AL. The program was outside and the weather was not the best. In fact, it was quite cold for AL. While there, I had a chance to speak with several men who wanted prayer and encouragement, One of the inmates asked if he could write to me. I normally do not agree to this because I don’t want to make a promise I cannot keep. However, in this instance, I did give him my church address and told him to send it there. Approximately a week later, I got this letter from him:

Hi Sister Lisa,
First of all, let me say that I enjoyed you and Fly Right. I’m glad God gave me the opportunity to meet you. You know, as we talked, you really gave me a lot of HOPE. I really understand everything is a great gift from God. Some things you talked about really opened my eyes to see that a change can be made with HOPE and STRENGTH. I just want you to know that you really gave me the strength to push forward and let my past be my past and let God take care of my needs. I can’t thank God enough for giving me the great blessing of meeting you and (fly right). God Bless!

And that,my dear friends, is why I do what I do. That is what this ministry does. It gives the “least of these” hope for a new tomorrow. I encourage ANYONE who has not gone on a prison outreach to try it once. You’ll know at once if it is for you…and if it is, you’ll be hooked for life!!
