Prison Ministry
Fly Right Inc. is on a mission to make a change in our prisons and our country.
Statistics have shown that the recidivism rate in the US is very high. According to a recent study by the Bureau of Criminal Justice, 67.5% of offenders are rearrested within 3 years with 52% returning to prison. Our organization is very concerned about this situation and wants to make a difference. We know that a man or woman will most likely offend again if not taught another way of life. This will cost the taxpayer less money and benefit society in general. This is also why Fly Right came into existence.
Our approach to recidivism is based on the experience of seeing lives changed after acceptance of Christ. Past experience has shown that going into living quarters is often the best approach. We use singers, athletes and, at times, ex-convicts. The use of personal testimony is very powerful. It is also a non-aggressive approach which appeals to a large majority of those incarcerated.
Another appealing approach is the large yard event. This could be anything from a “high-wire” event to a live band performing on stage. These events are very well received by the inmates and can be done if given the freedom and budget to make it happen.
OUR PRIMARY GOALS FOR THESE EVENTS ARE:
- To see inmates come to know Jesus Christ
- To reduce recidivism as an effect of changed behavior
- To teach our staff of volunteers how to share their faith
- To achieve the former goals in a secure and fiscally responsible manner
We are on a mission to make a change in our prisons and our country.
Do you want lend a helping hand?
Fly Right Inc.’s prison ministry achieves these goals through constant prayer, diligent planning, and partnership with other organizations. We have prayer teams around the globe who are alerted to our entry into prisons, jails, and schools. We plan each event very carefully. We count costs, utilize the best possible speakers, and ask for as much secure access as possible in each situation.
Fly Right, Inc is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt public charity (for a copy of our IRS determination letter, click here).
